Boy-O-Boy Has It EVER Been a While Since I Last Blogged!

Oh, how life changes!
Well I'm employed now, & have been for about 8 months, I was a volunteer for the previous 5 months. I'm only a Part-Time - Term (13 mo.), but I can be "converted" at any time, or they can extend my appointment for another term.

I'm working as an "Office Automation Clerk"; even though my training is as a Medical Lab Tech. My attention to details, & familiarity with MSWORD, means that the folks in the office have found several more things for me to do than was originally for me to do; but that's OK with me! That just means that I'm more valueble, & have a better chance of being converted to a perment status (Please/Hope/Pray)!!

Well that's all for now.........TTFN

Well it's been a long time...

With my system crashing, actually it just wouldn't finish its start-up, & Nytro-Soft no longer supporting ME, well that's how it goes. That & I was just too down to even look at this stupid machine for the last month...

So, here I am; ...still with nothing to say...so good night.

Well It's Almost Christmas Eve

Oh, Yea, It's the holidays....big deal; Who cares. When you're unemployed & broke the holidays are just one more reminder that life sucks!
Well, tomorrow Bern & I will spend the evening with his family; then on Thursday morning drive up to Wyoming to spend Christmas day with my folks.
At both of these get-together's others will have some kind of gift for us, yet the only thing we have is a Christmas card to say thank-you & thinking of you, & that's it. Bern's Sister-in-Law got us the ingredients to make a pair of cheese cakes for her, one Pumpkin, the other "Becky's 5X Chocolate Cheesecake", named for a friend of ours that would all but kill for a piece of this type of cheesecake (it is truly a cheesecake to "kill for").

If any one would like the recipe for either of these just E-Mail me...

Here are the Quotes for the Day, just some things to think on:

"Health and cheerfulness mutually beget each other."
Joseph Addison

"It is always pleasant to be urged to do something on the ground that one can do it well."
George Santayana

"Inexperience is what makes a young man do what an older man says is impossible."
Herbert V. Prochnow

"Time is what prevents everything from happening at once."
John Archibald Wheeler

"Imagination and fiction make up more than three quarters of our real life."
Simone Weil

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone, For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own."
Ella Wheeler Wilcox

"The future is made of the same stuff as the present."

Well It's Just Another Day

Well I have a very bad head cold; Not the flu just a rhino-virus, but I feel like Hell! Blech!!!

Got some sad news today; a young man that I used to work for, Matthew Eardman died this afternoon at about 2:30 pm from pneumonia following the flu. He was 24 years old. I worked for him up until he was about 14.

Understand that Matthew was severely developmentally disabled; his mom was plecenta previa & in hard labor for 4 hrs. before the Dr. did a C-section delivery, by which time most of Matthew's brain had been destroyed by lack of blood & oxygen! He died 3 times in the 24 hrs, but was revived each time. Poor kid, he could sort-of respond to light & sound, ie. he could turn his head toward them, but he couldn't sit up, roll over, or anything else for himself. He only had 7% of his brain left, he had constant seizures, a shunt to drain off the excess cebral stinal fluid, & a feeding tube in his stomach. Every one who worked for him learned a lot about themselves; myself included.

Frankly, most people didn't think he would live to 10, then thru his teens; yet he made it to 24. Well may he now, finally, Rest In Peace.....

Here is a good one for Christmas...

Christmas stamps

A woman goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards.
She says to the clerk, "May I have 50 Christmas stamps?"
The clerk says, "What denomination?"
The woman says, "God help us. Has it come to this?
Give me 6 Catholic, 12 Presbyterian, 10 Lutheran and 22 Baptists."

As if I wasn't feeling bad enough with an ear infection; last night I fell while getting out of bed & bashed my head on my closet door & gave myself a mild concussion! Just what I need for christmas...Oh yeah.

Well Life's Been Interesting Lately! LOL

First the Good News:

My sister Cate's littlest, although he has a small cyst on the lining of his brain, it doesn't appear to be anything too serious.

Now on to other stuff:

I went for a test at the Colo. Dept. of Revenue today, for a job I applied for back on the 19th; the day that I tried to write the same blog 3 times & each time something would fail & crash my entry.

Since then, our friend AHZ came in from Laramie, & several of us got together at this really great resturant "White Fence Farm" for their fried chicken. Now, please understand, I do NOT like fried chicken, but their's is Good! Good enough to make me think about liking it.
I started disliking it because of KFC, & I still Hate Drumsticks, ugh, gross! But, that's another for another time...

I've been also fighting with a low level ear infection; trying to take care of it with anti-histamines, decongestants, & Guaifenesin; & untill Thanksgiving night I had it pretty much under control, but I got too cold, for too long & it flared up with a vengence up at my parents house on Friday. So, yesterday I got on to antibiotics. Major difference!

Well my Steve Perry CD is almost over; & it's just about my bed time so...

Not Much For Today

"Creation comes before distribution--or there will be nothing to distribute."

Ayn Rand

Well I had another interview today, for what that's worth... It pays $11.50/hr. but, it's only for 39 hr's/wk, so that they can call it Part Time & not give health bennifits! They give a 401K, sick time, PTO, etc. But No Health! Get Real! But a job is a job, & it's better than being unemployed.

Well, that's all I have for today, so....

WELL.......Ummm...

As I sit here with "The Alan Parsons Project ~ Eye In The Sky" going in my ears, so that I don't have to listen to "The O'Reilly Factor" that my husband is watching; I decided that it was a good time to go to Blogger. First to read my sister Cate's, then to the one for the lady who lives here in the Metro area that I live in. Then it's on to attempt to write something on mine, especially since I don't do this often enough!

Now, here's the catch...Just what to write about? Well, ummm....I don't know, so now your stuck with my ramblings. HA Ha Ha!

This week has started off fairly well, I've had 3 interviews in just 2 days, & the one yesterday lasted for almost 2 hours! So, I either did Real well, or Really killed it; we'll just have to wait & see! The 2 today, well I won't worry if I don't get either. They're both file clerk type jobs; they get me employed, but...

Well it took 5 min. to write that last paragraph; the phone kept ringing, but only once & then it would be dial tone when I picked it up. We've had problems with this type of thing before & have been told that frequently it's hackers trying to ring up a phone type modem (this is not a problem for us). Well, after about the 4th single ring, the phone finally rings twice, it's the health club where I was a member, but with being unemployed, I've let my membership go, & so that's what I tell the little girl on the other end of the line when I got connected to a real person.
Now, here's a strange thing; they called me, but then I have to wait, albeit only for at most a second, to be connected to a real person. Don't you Just Love Computer Phones???

Strange days we live in; yes indeed!

Well, that's about all for the day. Maybe soon my brain will finally come up with some new poetry; I'll keep my fingers crossed (on my left hand, so that I can still hold a pen to write with! LOL HaHaHa...)

Well That Was Fun

Halloween passed quietly, thankfully. The one truly nice thing about living in an apartment complex with only our balcony doors to the outside world, & secured doors to the building, is that we don't have to deal with T-or-T'ers. Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against getting into a fun costume & make-up, & passing out candy to the little one's; but after years of passing out candy for my folks, the little ones come early, & it's the teens, that have no business going out to beg candy, that you see most of the night! There should be community parties for them to go to; so that they can enjoy being creative, & socialize; but not go around to houses for candy like the little children.

Enough of my ranting... I had another interview yesterday, not much of a job -- 20hrs. per week, just general office assisting... but it would be a job.

Well today & tomorrow would be the last days I could use the tickets to Elitch's, but even though the Weather Channel says it's Supposed to be 49*F today it will never get there... It is ~1:30PM & the current temp is just 30*F, ~ 90% humidity, with a light wind. This means that the effects of wind chill & just plain damp cold, you'll be a person-sickle in a matter of minutes, especially after just one or two fast rides! So, no Elitch's for this "little black duck"!
I've always said that "I'm crazy. Not Stupid!"

On a totally different note... I just got off the line with a friend that suggested that I share with you one of my short-cut receipts.
This one is fast
Creamy-Tomato-Basil Soup

..1 can...Condensed Tomato Soup

1/3 can...Water (to rinse the soup out of the can).

2/3 can...Milk or Soy Milk in my case.

To Taste..Dry Basil

To Taste..Dry Parsley
(I use about half again as much Parsley as Basil)

Stir it all together in a Microwaveable bowl with a lid.
Heat till it boils. Stirring it once or twice as needed.
Ladle into a nice mug & enjoy on a cold day, with a good Blog...

Well TTFN....

No I Don't Have A Job!~

Well that didn't last long.
Oh Well What The H*ll; Tra La La, La La...
At least I got 8 hours of pay at $10.70/hr.

Finally got to Elitch's (with our friend DJ{AHZ}) checking out which, if any rides Bern could go on. The answer to that one is only two or three....the Turn-of-the-Century Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel, & maybe the Tea Cups! And that's about all!
Most all of the rides had warnings that you should not ride if you have back or neck problems; and well, Bern has both!

Well, I can't think of anything else to say;
Sooooo....TTFN

I Have A Job!!!

Yeah! Yes it's only a Temp job; but it's a JOB!

Yes, I know that I've been avoiding the computer; but I actually been busy with several interviews, & just not emotionally up to dealing the internet....

Well, I've just had my third interview this week, & if you include the job fair last Thursday (& all the "meet & greet", passing out of resume's, & getting cards/ e-mail addresses for electronic applications & resume's), I've been a busy little wolf. But, that's just what you've got to do. What's real funny is that, for the last year, this is just what I've been doing! The difference is now, I'm with a job group sponsored by the state.

Well I've got to go to bed, so that I can get up at 5:30am to be at the job site before 7:30am!!!

Do I have a brain?

All the things I wanted to blog about before, but just could not think of...I think

Tomorrow is my husband's, Bernard, & my 6th anniversary. Now this coming summer we will have been together for 10 years; we met in jewelry making class the summer of '94. The point is that, well, at times it's like we've known each other all of our lives, & at other times we still are getting to know each other... He IS my soul-mate, I don't know where I'd be without him... but, like with every relationship there are times when.....ARRG! But, unlike my first "marriage" I have never felt threatened or unsafe. Quite the opposite; even when I'm mad as hell at him, or he at me, I still feel safe with him; and that's the way it is supposed to be!

Well if the weather co-operates, tomorrow we are going to celebrate by going to Elich's. Last month, no, in August, he won tickets to a GoGo's concert & Elich's, so now is the perfect time to use them. It's not to hot, nor too cold; nor are there going to be that long of lines to the rides! Now there are a lot of rides we won't even look at, more for him tha me; I'm a bit of a thrill seeker, but hey sounds like fun...if we can just keep his pain level at a dull roar & under control....
I'll report on this later.

Till then, then...TTFN

In other words, until I treated it like a migraine, the D**n thing just would not go away...I couldn't see, sound & temp sensitive, & upset stomach, couldn't even enjoy my dinner, until I took Lots of med's & a nap to let them take affect! Well It's About Time I Got Back To This Blog!

Between friends comming in from out of town, & going out of town for job interviews, as well as one or two here in town...Blog? What is Blog? Time to Blog? HA! I only get time to read my sister's blog about once a week. (Note: this is the 1st time I have ever tried to include a link. Hope it works!)
The point of my babbeling is, that I haven't had time to do much of anything these last couple of weeks; not to mention the fact that I'm not what could be considered disiplined by any stretch of the imagination! Hey! I'm doing good that I either go for a walk or usually down to the pool 4 or 5 times a week!

Well, met someone new today. Kira...a.k.a. KiWords
We met in a park not far from my place, that her 3 boys like to come to to play.
It was great to meet you, hope to do it again sometime soon! & for me; it was great to get out of the appartment & actually have some place to go, but with No Stress Attached! YEAH!

Well that's about all for now; I've been using the Backspace & Delete keys more than any other key today... So it's time to quit while I'm ahead....

Well I looked at it & it doesn't seam to have worked.....Can some one tell me how to put a Working link in a blog? Please! Thank you.....

Well it's Monday; & boy was it ever a Monday...
Had my return to work job group today (instead of the usual Wed.), & I'm just so down...the economy here Sucks the big one. You may get a call on a job, if your lucky, but getting an interview; now there's a rough one. Not many are getting that far... Oh well, time to do another round of trying the Temp agencies, just to get enough cash to pay a bill or two.

Well this is just a quick blog...have just got to get to bed (& Hopefully to SLEEP) at some sort of reasonable hour tonight...this laying in bed starring at the ceilling till dawn before I fall asleep is getting OLD! So time for a little meditation, & hopefully sleep.

So TTFN......

Not Too Bad of a Day

First things first: Yes Cate I Get the HINT! And not only that; today I got my first e-mail from one of the gals from your writing group that reads mine too. Thank you all.

Second: Cate, we'll have to work on the comment thing together; maybe we can do a yahoo audio chat this weekend & do it then? Let me know...

Onward & upward....

Yesterday Cate mentioned in her blog about how the temp dropped like a rock there; well kiddo you didn't feel anything yet!
Bern was supposed to meet with the guy who just bought the "Overland" restaurant in Laramie, Wyo. (just 3 hrs from where we live), not a bad little trip, remember I'm from Wyoming, where it's at least an hour to the next town, or any where else you might want to go (hahaha). When we left here, it was 85*F, 10 min. after we got to Laramie, it started to Rain, A COLD Rain. Half an hour later the rain had turned to SNOW, yes I said snow! Well, to top things off the guy had forgotten that he had wanted us to come up, & had set up the appointment with our friend Don (here after referred to as AHZ, as in like the character in Robert Asprin's "MYTH" books). As I was saying, he set the appointment, then forgot we were coming, went to do errands, then had car troubles....oyi-vay! So we make a quick pass by the record shop down the street, where they sell old vinyl records to see our friends there, well they're not there either! What a Trip! BTW, Bern had dressed for the 85*F temps here, even though I had told him that this front was supposed to get things really cold; but even I didn't expect Snow! Well we high-tailed it out of Laramie, but it was still 8pm before we got home last night. So I spent the day recuperating, I Ache... blech.

Quote for the Day
"Guilt by Free-Association" ......Think on that one for awhile...

More of My Old Poetry

It was a very nice day in the forest,
Under the cool of the shade trees.
Down by the little Brook,
The grass & flowers grew thick & tall...

Dusk to dusk ... When comes the day.
Dust to dust ... A life away.

Liberty is the luxury of self discipline.

The Moon
A piece of rock in the sky.
Lovers love under,
Composers write songs for,
Men created legends about.
The Moon;
Mirror in the Night...

Haiku?

The great Mount Fuji
A cloud encircles the top
Flooding rain comes soon

(please note, many of these were written many years ago....)

Well the "David Arkenstone" album I've been listening to is just about to finish its 2nd time through, & it's time to catch some news...if Bern will let me... the only thing I like about Bill O'Reilly is that it's great inspiration to Blog!
Well TTFN...

Just a Quick Blog

Well, my sister just told me that she's not the Only one who actually reads my blog... So, to the other few of you out there: Thank you!

One of the ladies in her [Cate- my sister] writing group just had to put her little kitty down today, & that in-itself is enough to make a person want to cry; but; then all that went with her decision, I feel SO Sorry for her...Good bye Jack, you were obviously a well loved cat. And to your human mother; just to let you know, I still miss my Manx-cat, Irving/Lil'Dude, who passed the day after Cate graduated college, & some-times I still shed a few tears for that little monster, too!

Onward & Upward...I think...Maybe...
I've been doing fairly good at getting down to the pool to work out most nights...Fortunately I'm always alone in the pool...8-9pm just before it closes for the night, because my husband Bernard just informed me that both the suits I've been wearing are SO Old & worn that they're, Well,.....ummmm, almost see-thru in the back! OH SH@~! Well, tonight I'll wear a pair of mens swim shorts, that I got to wear over my legging at the gym, over my suit! OH Well, What the Hell, Life goes on....

Got to go It's now after 8...got to get to the pool...

Yes! I Have Been Avoiding My Computer...

With my birthday yesterday & the anniversary of the 9-11-01 incident...& the fact that I'm still out of work....

I HATE Pop-Ups!!!!! It took me 3 tries just to type "I hate pop-ups", because of all the "expletive deleted" pop-ups....You'll be typing along & look up to see how it looks - & nothing's there...you're not even typing, or rather, nothing you just typed went anywhere! ARRG......just thought you'd like to know....

As I was saying, before I was SO rudely interrupted (again? yes...) I'm still out of work...although I have had a couple of calls, but as of yet no call back for an interview...keep fingers crossed!

Well on other notes, this starts week 2 of my getting down to the pool to swim; it is stated that it take 21 days of practice to start/stop a behavior...well 3 -5 times a week is my goal to get down to the indoor pool & work-out/swim/etc.
The other thing I'm getting moderate success with is attempting to meditate; but the way I get to any sort of true meditative state (if such a thing exists) is so strange...but hey, what ever works! Right???
But so far the only thing that seem to be of any help for my horrible insomnia, is 'Red Panax Ginseng' which is actually supposed to help you stay awake....oh well, not me! It makes me just drowsy enough that if I do it just right I'll fall right off to sleep...

Well that's all for now...it's almost time to get ready to go down to the pool...no excuses.....

OH, MY! Has it been that Long? OOPS!

Does anyone actually read this blog?
Oh well, if anyone does read this; please e-mail me.

It's hot here, & everybody is melting.

Our friend came down from Laramie this week to work on another friend's roof, & have his new/used car worked on while it was still under warranty (now that the dealship finaly got the paper work done & back.) Well, his thyroid meds are starting to go out of ballance & he's thinking the doc's will need to adjust the dose, because this weekend (Sat. thru this morning) he's been so out of it that even if they had been able to find the parts needed to work on the house, he was in NO shape to be up on a roof...hell, he's having enough trouble just walking around without falling down in my living room! In a way I'm thankful that one of the parts to fix his car won't be in till tommrow, he knew he had no business behind the wheel of a car. Ahh, the joys of Hashimoto's Disease! (I'm always thankful for the health I have, always remember that "...but for the Graces'; go there I!")

On a totally diferent subject, today I read a great quote: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood." So, take care of yourself & your "inner child" every day, be happy & thankful for all that we DO have.

That's all I have for right now; so....
TTFN & Blessed Be....

Well as Promised...

Well last night after we got home from the concert, I sat down & fell asleep on the couch...well at least I got to sleep before 5am (got Insomnia?)
So today I blog...

The opening band, "Caroline's Mother" was eh... not quite pathetic, but almost.

The Go*Go's however, were great! Their encore was a new song & Belinda Carlisle hadn't learned all the words for it yet, so she had to use a cheat sheet; Heehee, but still sounded great. My favorite song of the night was "I'd rather be a pin-up than a 0 size!" It's a fun song!

The ladies are tight; they really got their collective act together, at least musically.
The drummer Gina, was chain smoking throughout the whole set, & the one time she got the mic', her comment was that we [the audience] were "F@#$ing Wonderful"; just what I wanted to hear, yeah right; & yes there were children in the audience too...it is a summer concert & they took the stage at 8pm, & the whole thing was over at about 10:30pm, so not to unreasonable. Oh well...

I think that they did a song of two from each of their albums, plus, as I said, a new one or two...
All in all, a good time was had by all.

Saturday or Sunday? Which Ever....

Still nothing worth note has happened. Friend came down to have his new/used car worked on, but the warranty paperwork still had not been processed... bummer. Then Friday night, the county started "Western Welcome Week" & the big kick-off is a concert in the park by the Arapahoe County Philharomnic, followed by a really good Fireworks display!! So we went over to the park early enough so that we could smoke some pork ribs for the two guys & some chicken for me, Yum Yum Tasty!!!!!

That's all that's happened...So; till later.... TTFN

Well It's Tuesday...Already!

Last Sat. I went up to my folks place, my sister had come down from S.D. She had brought a new little kitten for my mom. Only there was just a bit of a problem with that...what mom had in mind, was a long-haired male; what my sister found/brought is a Black short-haired Female!!! She Is So Cute!!! She purrs at everything & everyone, so you can't help but Love her; that is unless your name is Mr. Thomas T. Cat, who is being a Grumpy Grampa Cat....He's doing the Hiss-&-Growl thing. He just doesn't want to loose his thrown...the King doesn't want to be usurped by a little Queen!!! He'll get over it though...

Well nothing much happened yesterday, I didn't even get the computer turned on...

This afternoon we Finally got RAIN!!! Thank !!! It was wonderfull, we must have gotten a good 1/2 inch in apx. 20 minutes! It continued to sprinkle for another 45min. to an hour... OH Gooddy Gooddy....

Well that's all for now; so TTFN

Either way, it's almost 2:30am & I just woke up for the 1st time tonight, & figured I'd blog since I didn't do it earlier today....
Nothing much happened...went to an appointment, called for another, took a nice nap on the couch before diner, & fell asleep on the couch during the news at 10pm....& now it's off to bed. Let's see how many times I'll wake up tonight....

Well, Maybe Every OTHER Day Is OK...

Didn't even turn the computer on yesterday! Oh well, that's life. Nothing really going on here. Was thinking about coloring my hair, to lighten it a little, & cover up the white at my temples, that have been getting worse since I was 19; but for some reason I called the 1-800 number & talked with one of the color specialists.... Well, it comes down to the fact that since I've used Henna on my hair of several years now; & this is the green herb Henna, not just a commercial product with a little Henna extract in it; the hair colorants could quite literally Melt my hair where it has been Henna'd. Well now, with my hair being Very Long, my pony tail is apx. 24in. long, & only an inch or so has grown out...that's a lot of hair that could be damaged! So, I go off in search of something to lighten my hair, that Won't react Badly with the Henna! Any Sugestion are welcome!!!
Enough for now....TTFN

What am I Still doing Up?

Just finnished reading my sister's blog; she's the one who got me started...so blame Her! Hee Hee...

Yes; well, she has this comment thing after her blogs, & a "Site Meter" at the end of her posts.....
The question here is: How do I put that on my Blogs???? Answers? AnyOne? E-Mail me, the link to my e-address is there on the bottom left.....

Well I'm at it Again....

Missed last night, got sleepy real early & was asleep befor 10pm (want to talk about WEIRD! I rarely go to sleep before 2am.)

Not much to say tonight. A friend of mine (I've known him for over 20 years now.) just happened to be in town this afternoon, & just as my husband & I were about to dive into the chef salad's he had made up for our diner, we got a call that he [our friend] was in town & had a "Great Hunger" for sandwiches at the "Bagel Deli" & did we want to meet him there, or have him pick us up. Well since our complex is "repairing" the walk-ways to the parking areas... no one can get to their cars in the parking garage...& just guess where we have the car....... So, we had him come & pick us up; I navigated him around the T-REX detours to the restaurant, & diner was fantastic; as to be expected... the food there is always great... my family has made a routine of going there whenever they're in town, as now have many of my friends. Well, needless to say, good food, good conversation, & since we discussed some of his various projects, & he's here on a business trip, the meal is a business expense for him... Just got to love him...

Well he's about to crash out in his favorite place to sleep here at our place...on top of apx. an inch of folded blankets in the middle of the living-room floor!!! Talk about a FIRM Bed! Oh Well, at least I know he occasionally does this at his own home, & when he stays over at my folks working on their computer, he sleeps on the floor of the spare bedroom too! Much to the dismay of my mom, who Always must be a Proper Hostess, keeps wanting to pull out the "Hide-A-Bed" for him! LOL Lots! My Poor Mom...She just doesn't understand him....But then, Does Any One????

Well it's time to call it a night... So: TTFN
